I installed the “Release” version of March 26, 2018, not a Beta or Developer edition. Something I noticed while Quantum was installing is that the installation replaced a whole bunch of my libs with Debian unstable versions. Why that is I have absolutely no idea but I suppose it is hardware and firmware related. CPU usage is down a smidgen but is still horrendous at 60%. So, on this computer Quantum is actually using MORE RAM than the ESR version did.
